Grandmas are better than Santa...

Santa slacked off this year!

Kyle had a great Christmas and although i don't have pictures to share he got a ton of things. (mostly from Grandmas)

Kyle is growing and can even open doors. For some reason he only wants to open bathroom doors when people are looking for some peace but i am sure the other doors will come too.

we moved

We are all moved in.

a week ago we had friends help us move starting Saturday morning. it took two trips with the uhaul but by 1 we had everything in the new house. Mom and a few others stayed and helped unpack. by 6 that night we only had 9 boxes to unpack and a bed to make.

Kyle did not like all the change and he just a few days ago was willing to go into a room with out holding my finger (dragging me with him)... that has all changed now...

i spent one week getting sicker and sicker...we decided this last Sunday to take the carpet out (due to cat dander) and then had friends help take out the rest on Monday. we now have most of our stuff back in boxes in the garage and kyle is once again unsure of what we are doing to his stuff.

we decided while the carpet was out we should paint. 10 trips to Home Depot later... we are still buying more paint... I am glad that Home Depot is not that far away.

I have about 3 weeks or so before the carpet will be in (i have not ordered it yet) but we are planning on painting the walls (all of them) and sealing the concrete floors due to more pet stuff....

sorry no photos as the camera cords are lost...

16 Months old

Kyle had his 15 month check up and shots on his 16 month birthday (i am a slacker mom who is a month behind...)

his weight was 21.15 lb (12%)
and height was in the 97% (again slacker mom does not know how tall)
His head was in the 66%

Kyle got 2 shots and did very well with them. we will go back in Nov for more shots.

our house (maybe)

we are buying a house. there have been many moments where i have been excited and already decorating the rooms in my head, but those times have been less then the "Oh crap what are we doing" moments.

this is the second house that we will own. Although the first was in DC and the price tag was almost twice what we are getting into this time it is still a sore subject as we had a hard time selling and paid to get out of the house (Larry's work paid us back some of the loss). Another difference is we plan on living in this house for at least the next 30 years.

the house is great if you don't look at the home inspections report that we got. there were 8 things that needed to be fixed or taken care of.

some were small as the shower head had a leak, there was tons of stuff in the Attic that they needed to move, the window was broken, the hot water heater was not working, the air filter needed to be changed, and they took out all but one smoke alarms... those by them self were no big deal. (but they said they would fix them so we let them) but the other two things were big (to us) the AC was not working properly, there was signs of on going problems with the outside unit and the inspector said it needed to be serviced by an HVAC company. (still has not happened) and the other was the siding on the house had water damage. MAJOR damage.

I had a contractor come out and give an estimate on what it would cost to fix and he said about 4-6 thousand dollars. they had a guy come out that said 2 hundred dollars. And from there we have tried to agree on a fix that everyone would be happy with. We finally did agree on how it would be fixed, and the work started today. it is in the contract that the inspector and myself will inspect the work during (while the siding is off the house) and after (when the new siding is in place) at this point we are planning on meeting the inspector out there at 7 am tomorrow.

if it goes well we will sign papers tomorrow at 3... we are moving on Saturday. we hope it is into the house and not into an apartment that we have to find between now and then.

All i can do is wait and not stress (too much)
